Personal Font Posters

    I thought it would be fun to create a new Typeface from scratch. Initially I had no clue as how to go about making a Typeface but after some research on letter anatomy I had some ideas for sketches. My ultimate goal is to one day submit my Type to be an Adobe decorative Type or to use for personal use. Using Units made up of squares and rectangles I came up with Jaded Umbrella referencing its umbrella shaped crossbars on the letters T’s, I’s and J’s. The challenge being preventing specific letters from looking too similar to each other.

What I set out to achieve here was to create a legible Type that could be used in future projects. Then turn into a poster to showcase the entire alphabet. This was a fun project to do for my introduction to illustrator.
